Cove Community Center at 5:00 pm. Officers meeting one hour before Chapter
meeting. LOH Sponsored 6th Annual Chilli Cook-off and Virtual Bike show.
For anyone who is not sure what a Virtual Bike Show is. You bring in
a picture of your bike and members vote with money for there favorite.
The bike shown must be owned by the person or family showing it. Photographs
must be 8 X 10 inches framed or unframed. If the photograph is not framed
please attach cardboard to the back to keep it rigid. The winner will
be determined by donations from the spectators. Only one Category: Peoples choice. First, second, and third will be awarded. All proceeds will go to the Ladies of Harley, so snap a picture and have some fun. Good luck to all participants. Some Hints for a good showing are: Nice looking frames are welcome. Also some small props to make your picture look cool are allowed. Directions to the meeting: From the Harley Shop you turn right then left onto US 70 and travel past Art Space Community School to the traffic light at the top of the hill. Turn left onto Buckeye Cove Road and travel 6/10 of a mile and veer right onto Wilson Cove Road. The Community Center is just 3/10 of a mile on the right after that. Fund raising dinner for the fight against Cancer and a Roast. The event will be at Riceville Community Center at 2251 Riceville Road. Click here for a MapQuest Map. This is where we had the reup party in January. Doug and Sherry King's band, "Country Sounds" will provide the entertainment. 6:00 pm Eat and music. 7:00 pm Start the Roast. If anyone does not know what a Roast is, friends will get up one at a time and tell funny stories about the person being roasted. There will be door prizes and lots of fun. Special Olympics ride - Meet at Shoney's on Long Shoals Road and depart for the school at 8:45 am. Click here for a map to Shoney's. If you want to eat breakfast come early. Bring a towel to put on the seat of your bike to prevent scratches on pipes. It may be a good idea to bring water or something to drink. Don't expect refreshments at the school. If you have pins from rallys, etc. that you would like to donate bring them. The kids like anything Harley. |

Ride to Macon County Poker Run. We will leave from Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson promptly at 9:00 AM, weather permitting and travel west for a stop at Ghost Town Harley Davidson for a quick break and to pick up our western brother and sister members, then on to Franklin. By my calculations Franklin is about 74.7 miles. Then the poker run is about 91.9 miles. Lots of great riding and fun, not to mention how beautiful it is in that area. Cost is $10.00 per hand. The Sales Manager Allen, said there will be special instructions on the mechanics of Motorcycles, how to pick up your ride, if you happen to drop it. (We all need that one), information about the terminology of the motorcycle world, Wine and cheese, and lots of other goodies. for the first night in Virginia and 30 for our stay in Washington and
I only have 2 rooms left. I doubt that I will be
able
to get anymore rooms. If anyone is still interested in going they need
to let me know right away. Also, I've sent an email to all those who contacted
me. If you don't receive the email please contact me immediately by phone
at 686-3930 so that I don't give your room away. If we run out of rooms
in our block I will see what I can do to obtain more rooms and I will also

There will be a Memorial Day Weekend Poker Run. Any Chapter Members that wish to participate in this event will meet at Burger King across from River Ridge Shopping Center at 9:30 am. Then plan to ride in as a group to start the poker run at 10:00 am. The Tail of the Dragon, Tellico Plains and The Cherohala Scenic Skyway Ride. Will leave from Sam's Club Gas Station on Patton Ave. at 8:15 am. We will ride out to meet some folks from the Charleston HOG at Maggie Valley, Go by Ghost Town Harley-Davidson, Then on out to Deals Gap (Tail of the Dragon) Fontana Dam and the Cherohala Scenic Skyway. LOH Picnic/Fundraiser: Road Captains Wild Bill and Mike Eveland will meet everyone at the Shop and leave at 11:00 am Rain or Shine -- Bike or Car They will travel up the Parkway and down through the Davidson River area to the picnic spot. (Sycamore Flats) at the bottom, the last one on the right. $10.00/person will be the charge. All proceeds will go to the charities of the Ladies of Harley. Come hungry, the menu is definitely upscale and there will be plenty to eat, like always. It's looking like we will be having a big turnout so bring a folding cloth chair if you have one. Also the picnic area is covered in case of rain. Make sure you have your name on the list. The deadline to RSVP is Thursday the 29th at noon. A Police and/or Highway Patrol escorted ride will leave Parkway Harley-Davidson
(Formally, Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson) and travel to the Cherokee Festival Fairgrounds.The riders will start lining up at 10:00 am and plan to depart at 12:00 noon.
There will be a $25.00 fee and riders will pick up an event shirt and pin at the start when paying and a BBQ dinner when arriving at the Fairgrounds. Also a band is planned at the destination, but not confirmed. Some Volunteers will be needed on the 26th to help Gene and help the Blanton family. We will treat it like a Toy run with gate people and Traffic control. We will have a Chapter ride to Hendersonville's Special Bike Night. We will leave from Parkway Harley Davidson about 5:00 pm and meet the Hendersonville Chapter members about 5:45 pm behind the Long John Silver's on US-64 or commonly known as Four Seasons Boulevard, then we will ride as a group to the party. Ride for dinner at Mt. Pisgah to support "Cruisin The Blues". to present our donation to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation riders/committee. It will be the end of an event called "Cruisin the Blues". where they ride the Parkway and collect for the beautification of the Parkway. Nancy and I have been on that ride and it is a lot of fun and for a great cause. The link to their web site is http://cruisintheblues.blueridgecruisers.com/ As a Chapter we have been supporting this cause for about three years and hopefully will continue to support them for many years to come. We will leave from the Dealership at 6:00 pm and plan on dinner at 7:00 pm. After dinner we will ride down US-276 through the Davidson River area and home. This is a night ride, a fun night ride down some dark curvy roads. So we will be using caution. Road Captain Richard Harshaw will lead. In case of rain or if you are not a very good night rider, you may want to consider bringing the four wheeler. It will be rain or shine. |

Riders coming from east of Haywood County are strongly encouraged to exit I-40 at George's Branch near east Canton and take the old business highway 19/23 into Canton, NC in order to avoid the construction on Champion Drive and the bridge replacment on Bridge Street. Riders coming from the West should travel through Clyde, NC to Canton on Business 19/23 east and approach Pisgah High School from western Canton and Radio Hill. All bikes welcome! Christmas Open House - Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson, Swannanoa, NC Henderson County Toy Run: Fletcher Community Park, Howard Gap Road, Fletcher, NC (Take exit 44 off I-26 and go North on Highway 25, past Smiley's Flea Market to Howard Gap Road, Turn right, Cross RR Tracks and park in on the left.) Event Categories
Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. chapter members. There are three categories of activities, all activities are identified as follows:
Closed events are those chapter events which are open to chapter members and one guest per member.
Member events are events that are open only to our Chapter H.O.G. members.
Open events are those chapter events which are open to chapter members, national H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.
If you are interested in becoming a H.O.G. chapter member, come to one of our monthly meetings. We'll be glad to answer your questions. You may also check at the Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson dealership for more information.
